Spotlight: Lauri Nicholas

Lauri Nicholas

Born and raised?
I was born In Ogden, Utah but raised in California and Alaska until my family moved back to Utah.

What brought you to St. George?
While my husband's job is in Vegas, we felt impressed to live in Saint George to raise our family.

Schooling and career?
I have attended Weber State University in between having my children. Not done yet.

How did you and your husband meet?
Chris and I met at a telemarketing company. He listened in on the calls I made, so he could "get acquainted with the company my group called for"….I didn't have to make very many calls because he just wanted to talk. We have been married 23 years now.

Children?
We have Sydnee, 22, Madison 20, McKenzie, 17, Lauren, 14, and Tate 9.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
My hobbies are genealogy, photography, reading, writing and Disneyland with my kids and husband.

Something unique about me….growing up in Alaska allowed me to camp and fish a lot! I really enjoyed living on the Kenai River in the summers to fish. I also became good at ice skating since all of the elementary schools in Anchorage have a skating rink on the play grounds. Don't know the last time I put on skates though, so don't be expecting anything at the next ward talent show!
