Dear Little Valley Ward Members,
We are so excited about a new scheduling change that will take place in our Primary this Sunday, October 30! With our Primary pushing 190, and only growing, we feel this change will be very beneficial.
Instead of the the traditional two block Primary and class time, we will have three blocks and are calling this our Tri-Primary schedule. This program is being used by other wards in the stake and has been approved by the 1st Presidency of the Church.
The three rotations are:
1. Singing Time… Primary Room (30 min)
2. Sharing Time … Font Room (30 min)
3. Class Time…. Classrooms (30 min)
There will be two 5-minute breaks between each rotation.
Our ward is just BIG! We feel the smaller numbers in each group will give the children more opportunities to participate during sharing and singing time, as well as increase reverence. This change will also provide the Sunday School with additional rooms.
We appreciate all you do in supporting the Primary.
Love,
The Little Valley Primary Presidency

Tuesday, April 12, 2016
Dear Sisters of the Little Valley Ward,
We love you and are so thankful for all of the countless hours of service you provide to those in need. In two weeks, April 17th, we will be holding a special meeting for all of you during the Relief Society hour of church. Because we would like everyone to be able to participate, the priesthood has agreed to cover all other classes during this hour. This means, regardless of your typical weekly church responsibilities, you will be able to attend Relief Society during the third hour of church. We are excited to be able to have all of the sisters together during this hour and look forward to seeing you there. A light breakfast will be served. So, put it on your calendars, April 17th (2 Sundays from now), the third hour of church, in the Relief Society room.
Please also mark April 22nd and 23rd on your calendars. The Relief Society and Laurels will be having an overnight cabin retreat. We hope all will come and develop stronger friendships.
Love,
The Little Valley Relief Society Presidency

Reminder
Hello sisters. This is a message from our Primary President.
I forgot to announce in Primary to remind the children who are 8 and older and have been baptized to get a recommend from the Bishopric for the Provo City Center Temple Dedication. Please take this special opportunity to attend one of the sessions with your children. Our wonderful bishopric will be at the chapel on Thursday evening at 7:00 to issue the Dedication recommends. Everyone, even those with a current adult or limited use recommend, will need a special dedication recommend in order to be admitted.
Thanks,
Sister Cutler

SPOTLIGHT
SPOTLIGHT
Laura Vanderslice
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Van Buren, Arkansas. What brought you to St. George?
After living in Portland, Oregon and Boise, Idaho we put up a map of the US and started narrowing down states and cities and when we had narrowed it down to just a few cities we just felt like St George was where we were supposed to be.
Where did you go to college? What degree did you earn? What have you done since then?
I've been to several. I started out at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on a cheerleading scholarship. Then I moved to Provo and attended one semester at UVU and one semester at BYU. And lastly I just finally got my associates at Dixie. I hope to someday finish my Bachelors in Secondary Education so I can teach H.S. Math.
How did you meet your husband? How long have you been together?
I met my husband at Wal-Mart in Orem. He worked there overnight in the produce department while he was going to school. My roommate and I were there late one evening and I thought he was hot and went and talked to him and gave him my number. We dated for a year and half and were engaged for 8 months. I know that and ETERNITY for most LDS marriages. We have been married for 7 years but, we've been together for almost 9 years.
What are the names and ages of your children?
We have one little girl, Madilyn, she is 2 1/2 years old. And we have a 2nd baby girl on the way due July 5th.
What are your hobbies and favorite things to do?
I love to craft and sew. I also love sports. Pretty much anything but my favorites are Volleyball and Basketball.
What is something unique about you?
I've eaten the same meal on January 1st for as long as I can remember. It's a southern tradition. On New Years day we eat hog jowl's (similar to bacon), cabbage, black eyed peas and corn bread. The hog jowl's and cabbage represent wealth in the new year and the black eyed peas represent luck of the new year. The corn bread...well it's just delicious!
