Sister Spotlight: Jessica Burton
Where were you born? Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
If you are married, how did you meet your husband? CJ and I served in the same mission. Crossed paths post mission and married.
Kids? I have two children – Eli is 13 and Ida is 6.
My favorite hobby is – I love to piece quilts.
My favorite food is – I enjoy all types of food. Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese are at the top of my list.
My favorite restaurant is – Bua Thai in Claremont, California.
The music I listen to the most is – First Aid Kit (Swedish folk music). Anything bluegrass, folk, or disco.
My favorite thing to buy is – Fabric, shoes, and big gaudy jewelry.
The city I would most like to visit is – Stockholm or Reykjavik.
The best vacation I ever had was – West Coast road trip starting in British Columbia. Highlights: the Redwoods and San Francisco/Berkeley. A close second was a two week Maui holiday a couple of years back.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would really like to be flexible and limber. So, I suppose Yoga.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Putting the laundry AWAY after washing and folding it. I just can’t close the deal. I have the same problem with paperwork. Can never get it filed.
What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic? I have a positive attitude and I am a good waker-upper in the mornings. High energy, a lot of jazz hands, smiles and rah-rah-rahs!! Go Get ‘em! Wa-hooooo!
What is the “thing” that you are most grateful for? My kids. Hard to get. Not taken for granted.
